Waterloo woman facing five felony charges after welfare fraud investigation

A Waterloo woman is facing multiple charges after the completion of an investigation into welfare fraud in Seneca County.

Deputies arrested Loan T. Lu, 38, of Waterloo on several charges after the welfare fraud investigation was completed on February 22nd.

She was charged with two counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, fourth-degree welfare fraud, misuse of food stamps, and fourth-degree grand larceny.

All of the charges are felonies and stem from an investigation where Lu received public assistance from Seneca County and failed to disclose her entire income.

She was released on an appearance ticket to answer the charges at a later date.
