Police: Charges pending after car goes off road, crashing through occupied home

The Macedon Police Department is investigating an incident, which resulted in a home on Rt. 350 suffering extensive damage.

Police say that 20-year-old Jared Jones was traveling down Rt. 350 when his vehicle traveled 600 to 700 feet off the road, crashing through a home on the property. Two people were home at the time, according to police but none suffered injuries.

Jones was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.

The accident happened around 9 pm.

Marijuana and other drugs were found inside the vehicle. However. police are waiting on the toxicology report before any formal charges are filed.

For the owners of the home, there was some good news that came from the situation. They were informed by an engineer for the Town of Macedon that their home would not have to be condemned.
