Thousands are without power in the Finger Lakes Wednesday night as crews work to remove trees, clear downed power lines, and restore power for those who are without.
The latest numbers by county from NYSEG and RG&E are as follows:
Wayne: 8,011 customers are still without power. While nearly every community in Wayne County is experiencing some level of outage — those hardest hit include Marion, Ontario, Walworth, and Williamson.
Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts says that the travel advisory remains in effect in Walworth and Ontario. Those will continue until 6 am on Thursday.
Several roads in Wayne County are also closed. In Walworth, Route 350, Lewis, Canandaigua, Lincoln and County Line roads are all closed. In Ontario, Ridge, North Slocum, Furnace, Lakeside and Knickerbocker roads are all closed as well.
Virts says anyone traveling in Wayne County should exercise extreme caution.
A tractor-trailer was reported on it’s side in the westbound lane of the New York State Thruway directly alongside the del Lago Resort & Casino. Crews were called to that scene shortly before 11 pm.
