The Mynderse Academy boys and girls varsity basketball teams both captured Section V Class B Champions a week ago but saw their seasons come to an end just one game short of the NYSPHSAA Final Four on Saturday in Batavia and Buffalo respectively.
The Mynderse Blue Devils boys were up first against Section VI Class B champs, Health Sciences Charter School at 3:30 pm. The contest was played at Genesee Community College in Batavia after power outages due to this week’s windstorm forced the game to be relocated from Rush-Henrietta.
In a game that Mynderse led by 9 points in the second half, the Health Sciences Falcons would charge back late in the game to capture a 50-47 victory.

Mynderse ends their season at 22-2 with a Finger Lakes East league title and the school’s 9th Sectional Championship.
