Soggy weather will persist throughout the day on Tuesday.
The forecast calls for another cloudy, rainy day across the region — but the sun will make a return on Wednesday, as a nearby system pulls away.
Tuesday forecast from FLXWeather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil:
“A storm system will track northeast across Pennsylvania today. As it does so, rain showers will spread north into the Finger Lakes this morning and continue into the afternoon hours.
Last night, I mentioned that the rain may have a difficult time coming north. This does look to be the case, with the northern Finger Lakes only seeing some light showers today.
The steadiest rain will be across the Southern Tier and southeastern Finger Lakes. Up to a quarter inch of new rain could fall across these areas, with lesser amounts further north and west.
The rain will increase from southwest to northeast between 8 and 11 am. A couple of hours of showers is likely before the rain tapers off from northwest to southeast between 2 and 5 pm.
Temperatures today will rise from morning lows in the low and mid 40s to afternoon highs near or just above 50 degrees.”
