A crash that happened around 8:38 pm on Tuesday resulted in the temporary closure of State Rt. 38, as well as the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation being called to the scene.
The accident happened near Fire Road 18 when a vehicle rolled over, which resulted in gasoline being spilled in the ditch. The accident scene, located in Scipio, resulted in Rt. 38 being closed until nearly 10:30 pm.
Injuries were not reported at the scene. Cayuga County 911 reports that there were at least two individuals inside the car that rolled over, but that they were able to remove themselves from the vehicle.
The Cayuga County Health Department was notified of the spill and State Police assisted at the scene with closing the road until the tow truck arrived.
