A 48-year-old Savannah man is accused of strangling a woman until she lost consciousness — seriously injuring her.
Deputies say Timothy Caves, 48, of Savannah was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, two counts of criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
The charges stem from an incident where Caves seriously injured a woman during a domestic incident. Deputies say he strangled the victim until she lost consciousness, and took her phone away while she tried to call for help during the ordeal.
There was even a short struggle between deputies and Caves, according to authorities. However, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says that he was taken into custody after that struggle ended.
Caves was remanded to the Wayne County Jail.
