Fire departments called back to large lumber fire in Sennett

Multiple Cayuga County fire departments returned to the scene of a large outdoor fire in the town of Sennett Tuesday.

According to Cayuga County 911, at around 11:30 a.m., crews from Sennett, Weedsport, Owasco, Auburn, Fleming, Throop and Aurelius were called to the area of Grant Avenue, County House and Chestnut Ridge roads to fight hot spots from a lumber fire that started Monday afternoon.

Grant Avenue Road was shut down in both directions at around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday. All traffic was being diverted onto County House and Chestnut Ridge roads.
