A Clifton Springs man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a complaint was filed with the 911 Center that a driver was slumped over the wheel of a running vehicle in Phelps.
Deputies say 21-year-old Christopher Kane, of Clifton Springs was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, and driving while ability impaired by drugs. Deputies say his vehicle was running at the Phelps Byrne Dairy and when he was approached by authorities he showed significant signs of intoxication and impairment.
He was found to have a previous DWAI conviction in 2015, and he submitted to a breath test, which showed him to have a blood-alcohol content of .07 percent. He was also under the influence of drugs as well, according to deputies.
He was issued traffic citations and charged with felony driving while intoxicated. All of the charges will be answered in Phelps Town Court at a later date.
