Trees to take root in Victor

The tree-killing emerald ash borer made its way into Victor Municipal Park, damaging numerous ash trees in the 47-acre park.

Now that crews with the town and village have removed those diseased trees, the ground is ready for planting.

On Saturday, April 29, volunteers will dig in for the annual Village of Victor Arbor Day celebration. As in previous events, everyone is invited to join in.

Forty trees will be ready to take root in the park on Paparone Drive. The mix of new trees will include: European larch, concolor fir, Norway spruce, London planetree, swamp oak, catalpa, river birch, dawn redwood, elm, Kentucky coffeetree and hackberry.
