An Auburn man has admitted to breaking into a residence in the town of Cato.
Corddereal Tompkins, 29, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of third-degree burglary, a class D felony.
Tompkins was arrested Dec. 7, 2016, after the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office was called to a burglary in progress on Route 34. According to a news release at the time, deputies found Tompkins’ pickup truck in a garage at an unoccupied home at around 7:30 p.m., and the door on the rear side of the home appeared to have been forcibly entered.
Using a K-9 unit from the Auburn Police Department, deputies located Tompkins and co-defendant, Tristan Saphara, 17, later that night. Both were charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny.
