Construction of the new bridge on State Route 14A over Big Stream at the south end of the village of Dundee will begin soon.
This project will completely replace the bridge carrying Route 14A over Big Stream, located between Chambers and Saunders streets. The new bridge will be a concrete multi-beam structure.
The $2 million project will be paid for with state and federal funds and should be complete by mid-November, according to information provided by the New York State Department of Transportation.
Traffic will be accommodated using a temporary bridge on-site and traffic signals will direct vehicles at the nearby intersections in order to minimize driver impacts, according to the DOT.
This project is part of $36 million in road and bridge projects planned for the Southern Tier.
