Pelican Point plan heads to Gorham Town Board

The town Planning Board this week recommended Pelican Point Marina be able to rezone parcels off East Lake Road and Route 364 for its marina business — under certain conditions.

At issue are undeveloped parcels adjacent to the marina on Canandaigua Lake that are zoned mostly for residential use. Marina owners requested rezoning 2 acres adjacent to the marina on East Lake Road (County Road 11) and 6.4 acres behind the marina off Route 364 for general business use.

Pelican Point co-owners Terry Principe and Bill Pellicano want to use the 2 acres for parking and the additional acres behind the marina for boat storage, with access from Route 364. The idea is to reduce traffic on East Lake Road and move vehicles inside the marina property by transporting boats from Route 364.

To do this, all the marina parcels must be rezoned for general business.
