Arrest made in Seneca Falls church burglary

On Friday, June 16th at approximately 11 am members of the Seneca Falls Police Department arrested a former-Seneca Falls resident after an investigation into a December 2016 burglary at a local church.

Police say Neil M. Moyer, 42, formerly of Seneca Falls unlawfully entered the church building and stole money, as well as other items valued at approximately $1,500 and caused damage to the property in the process.

According to police, Moyer was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny, petit larceny, as well as fourth-degree criminal mischief.

He was arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.

On June 19th the Seneca County Sheriff’s Dive Team recovered physical evidence from Van Cleef Lake.

The New York State Police also assisted.
