Route 5 north of Auburn will be temporarily closed for railroad crossing replacement

A stretch of Route 5 north of the city of Auburn will be temporarily closed later this week for a railroad replacement project, the state Department of Transportation and Finger Lakes Railway announced Monday.

Route 5 from Chestnut Ridge Road to County House Road in the town of Sennett will be closed beginning 7 a.m. Friday, June 23 until 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 27. The road closure will allow Finger Lakes Railway to replace the railroad crossing.
