Still drying out, fireworks postponed in Sodus Point

This is a crucial 4th of July weekend in Sodus Point as businesses look to make up for revenue lost from all of the spring flooding, but the holiday weekend will be different this year.

The Village will not hold the car parade, and fireworks are postponed until September 2, during Labor Day weekend.

“Normally on a 4th of July weekend, the traffic would be nonstop, and as you can see it’s very light,” said Kelly Grey, owner operator of Hots Point.

Hots Point serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with burgers, hot dogs, chicken and ice cream being customer favorites.
