Sodus Point celebrates 4th of July despite flooding

The village of Sodus Point is not having its usual 4th of July celebration, but neighbors are celebrating the holiday nonetheless.

The Sodus Point lighthouse museum held its independence extravaganza on Sunday.

The celebration included a race, a pancake breakfast and a concert from Gap Mangione.

Because of the recent flooding, Sodus Point will not hold its parade and fireworks until September.

“The community has really come together, we of course have had a lot of issues” said director of the Sodus Bay lighthouse museum, Joseph O’Toole.
