Two sent to Strong after rollover crash in Manchester

On July 1st deputies along with Port Gibson Fire and Ambulance, as well as Finger Lakes Ambulance responded to a one vehicle crash on County Rd. 27 in Manchester.

A 2004 Pontiac GTO operated by Marissa Giampaolo was traveling too fast to negotiate a curve when the vehicle hit gravel on the north shoulder of the road. Her vehicle subsequently over-corrected, crossed the double-solid center line, entering the eastbound lane — leaving the roadway and striking a ditch and mailbox.

The vehicle went air born and over turned numerous times before coming to rest on its roof in a yard. Giampaolo sustained a large laceration to the left side of her head, and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Port Gibson Ambulance.

A passenger in her vehicle, identified as John Babiarz, 51, of Palmyra was also transported to Strong Memorial for a shoulder injury sustained in the crash. Both were wearing seat belts, and according to deputies — Giampaolo was ticketed for unreasonable speed and failure to keep right.
