Doctor busted in Wayne County prostitution sting is back to work in Canandaigua

A doctor charged in a Wayne County prostitution sting is back to work in Canandaigua thanks to an overwhelming response from his patients.

The University of Rochester’s Thompson Health has reinstated Doctor Robert Smith at their facility in Canandaigua. Dr. Smith was one of six men arrested at a motel in the town of Ontario in northwestern Wayne County. In April he was formally charged with patronizing a prostitute.

U of R’s Thompson Health says they have had an overwhelming response from Dr. Smith’s patients, who wanted his reinstated to continue their care.
