VanScoter among nine first team all-state baseball selections in Section V

Livonia left-hander Reid VanScoter, who is entering his freshman year at Binghamton University, snagged another baseball award before heading to the Division I program.

The New York State Sportswriters Association named VanScoter the state’s player of the year in Class B, after he led Livonia to the division’s state championship. VanScoter was dominant, finishing with two no-hitters and 147 strikeouts in 70 2/3 innings on his way to an 11-0 record with a 0.50 earned run average.
