Auburn heroin dealer’s 50th conviction lands him in prison for four years

An Auburn man with an extensive criminal history was sentenced to prison Tuesday for selling heroin in Cayuga County.

Karl Diggs, 44, of 191 Genesee St. Apt. 30, was arrested in November 2015 and charged with four felonies — two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. He was charged a year later with two additional drug-related felonies.

In May 2017, Diggs pleaded guilty to one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance. That marked his 50th criminal conviction — of those convictions, four were felonies and 46 were misdemeanors.
