Real Eats is first tenant in Geneva’s new Innovation Kitchen

The city is celebrating the first tenant in its Innovation Kitchen, with a goal of making the food-preparation facility at the Geneva Enterprise Development Center available for entrepreneurs and community groups 24/7.

Real Eats, which calls itself the first-ever sous-vide-style vacuum-packed meal delivery service, hopes to begin operations in the recently completed kitchen within a couple weeks. City Manager Matt Horn told city Industrial Development Agency Board members Tuesday morning that the company is awaiting final approval from the state Department of Health.

Meanwhile, it is currently operating in temporary quarters in Waterloo.

The Innovation Kitchen is a key component of the city’s Food and Beverage District initiative.
