On July 16th at approximately 2:15 pm deputies were called to County Road 32 at Hickox Rd. for the report of a crash.
When they arrived at the scene it was determined that Samira Karim had been operating a 2017 Toyota Rav 4 with five passengers ranging from 12- to 80-years-old in her vehicle when she stopped at the stop sign at Hickox Rd. ,and then continued southbound into the path of a 2013 Ford pickup truck operated by Justin Hept.
Karim, a Concord, California resident struck Hept, a Victor resident and caused the vehicles to rotate. Karim complained of rib pain and was transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital by Canandaigua Ambulance.
She was ticketed for failing to yield at a stop sign and will answer the charge at a later date. Hept was uninjured, but also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, after a routine check of his license determined that it had been revoked.
The passengers did not sustain any injuries.
