Seneca Falls woman arrested in welfare fraud investigation

A 39-year-old Seneca Falls woman was arrested as part of a welfare fraud investigation, according to investigators with the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say Kelly A. Kaufman, of Seneca Falls filed false paperwork with Seneca County and failed to disclose household income while attempting to receive benefits from Seneca County.

Kaufman was charged with one count of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, a Class E felony.

She was issued appearance tickets and will answer the charge in Waterloo Village Court at a later date.
