Investigators: Waterloo woman arrested for welfare fraud

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on July 27th at approximately 5 pm investigators arrested a 62-year-old Waterloo woman following an investigation into benefits received.

Investigators say Rene C. Jordan, 62, of Waterloo received benefits she was not entitled to. She was subsequently charged with first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and fifth-degree welfare fraud. She was also charged with misuse of food stamps.

She was issued appearance tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
