Union employees at Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls have a new contract after a weekend vote ratified the deal.
ITT Goulds Pumps LLC., an ITT Inc., company and United Steelworkers International and Local 3298 have entered into a new five-year agreement effective July 29th.
The contract provides improvements in wages, overall benefits and other terms and conditions, according to a press release sent out over the weekend.
Mike McKee, Seneca Falls Operations General Manager said, “This agreement will allow us to remain competitive in a challenging global market. The Bargaining Committee was professional and negotiated a comprehensive package that is fair to our employees while supporting business objectives going forward.”
Mision La-Seigna, President of United Steelworkers Local 3298 said, “Once again, I would like to thank the company for bargaining in good faith. This contract represents the ongoing commitment shared by the Company and Union to remain a world-class competitor while maintaining our hometown values.”
According to representatives of the union, approximately 300 bargaining unit members will be impacted by this new agreement.
La-Seigna continued, “With this new contract the company and union reaffirm our unity and commitment to our workers — that we may continue in the proud legacy of Made in America!”
