Penn Yan man has multiple outbursts against police, faces several charges

On Saturday at approximately 11:56 pm Penn Yan Police were called to the Mustang Pub for a report of a male trespassing.

When police arrived they arrested Kristopher J. Mahan, 36, of Penn Yan for trespassing onto the property — after having previously being barred from entering.

While being processed at police headquarters officers allowed Mahan to use a restroom. When officers attempted to place Mahan back in handcuffs he pulled away, and had to display a taser in order to get Mahan back into handcuffs. He then refused verbal commands to go to the floor.

He was charged with trespass, obstructing governmental administration and open container. While being transported to court he then had a second outburst, which resulted in Mahan attempting to bang his head off of a wall. He was charged with another count of obstructing governmental administration.

Mahan remains committed to the Yates County Jail and will answer the charge at a later date.
