Schools will send surveys for community, staff, student input

Community members, school staff and students in the Dundee and Penn Yan Central School Districts will soon be receiving surveys from the school districts as they work to identify the best way to meet the public education needs of the future.

Both school districts have seen enrollments decline 30 percent over the past 15 years.

Dundee School Board members reviewed the surveys at their Aug. 10 meeting, and after a final review by the Penn Yan Board, the surveys will be distributed. Dundee Superintendent Kelly Houck says they hope to have responses in time for discussion at a joint meeting of the boards of education on Sept. 20 in Penn Yan.
