Rain doesn’t dampen first-school-day spirits in Ontario County

Teachers and administrators donned umbrellas to greet students, some of whom covered their heads with hoods and backpacks to shelter from the rain.

“Children eagerly arrived to Victor Primary School this morning, wet from the rain and excited for the promise the year holds,” said Principal Jennifer Check. “This year, we are looking forward to growing as a school community, becoming even better readers, writers, mathematicians, problem solvers and friends.”

Dorothy DiAngelo, principal at Victor Early Childhood School, noted Tuesday was orientation for parents of kindergarten and pre-K students with the little ones all excited to meet their teachers and tour the building.

“Our first-grade students arrived with smiles on their faces and were exuding confidence,” she said.

“We had a great opening morning,” agreed Victor Junior High Principal Brian Gee. “We saw a lot of smiling faces at VJH today.”
