Auburn officials digging deeper into impacts of Court Street parking lot expansion

Auburn city officials will be taking a closer look at the environmental impacts an expansion of the Court Street parking lot could have on surrounding properties after a neighbor expressed concern with the project during an Auburn City Council meeting on Sept. 7.

The city's Superintendent of Engineering Services Bill Lupien said Tuesday the engineering department, in conjunction with the department of Planning and Economic Development, will be conducting a more extensive environmental review based on residents' concerns.

Roberta Williams, who lives, works and owns property on Court Street, said during the Sept. 7 council meeting that parts of the city's State Environmental Quality Review report were not true, such as those relating to water drainage.
