Police: Canandaigua woman used, bought drugs in front of children

A Canandaigua woman is behind bars after police allege that over a 16-month period, she engaged in various illegal activities in front of children, including purchasing and using drugs and forcing a minor to smoke marijuana.

Robin L. Vertigans, 36, was arrested Wednesday at 1:50 p.m. on four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The Canandaigua Police Department alleges that the illegal activities took place between January 2016 and April 2017 and included Vertigans injecting heroin while children were in her care.
