Investigators at the scene of a late-morning fire at Camelot Court Apartments off North Main Street found a person dead in the apartment. It is not yet known whether the death was related to the fire.
The Canandaigua Police Department is investigating with the assistance of the New York State Police and the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
The Canandaigua Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire first reported this morning as a “strong smell of burning” at the Camelot Court Apartments.
Upon arrival just after 11 a.m., firefighters reported that they entered a building and called for a second alarm requesting additional responders. They then knocked the fire down fairly quickly.
