Cato-Meridian school district to buy new math textbooks, educational software

Cato-Meridian High School will be getting new math textbooks for the first time in years.

The Cato-Meridian Central School District Board of Education adopted books for algebra 1, geometry and algebra 2 at a school board meeting Sept. 26, district Superintendent Noel Patterson said. The high school’s principal, Danielle Mahoney, has decided to buy all of the texts at once instead of staggering the purchases.

The cost of all the books comes to roughly $18,000. The books have not been purchased yet, as teachers still have to fill out and turn in requisition forms, Mahoney said. She believes the books will come in a matter of weeks.
