Back in 2013, the school board approved a motion authorizing the sale of the vacant Main Street School building.
The sale hasn’t happened, but school officials are still interested in selling the iconic school, built in 1928.
The school district’s attorney has re-examined the 2013 resolution and determined that it lacked some minor legal language.
Monday night, the board will consider a revised and corrected resolution.
If approved, the district will actively market the property. Superintendent of Schools Terri Bavis said there is interest in the building. A sale would not need voter approval, Bavis said.
Bavis also said the district has decided not to sell athletic fields on Walnut Street. She said those fields were used when the Main Street School was operating as a school, but other community athletic teams use it for games and practices.
