Two people graduated from Yates County Drug Treatment Court during a ceremony last week at the county courthouse.
Attending the event were county Judge Jason Cook, presiding judge of drug court, along with court personnel, law enforcement members, government officials, treatment providers and guests. Also in attendance was retired Judge W. Patrick Falvey, who presided over the court for many years.
Members of the treatment and business community were also present, as well as past graduates and community volunteers. It was the 32nd graduation ceremony since the formation of drug court in the county, and 80 people have graduated from the program.
Cook said the success of the court is based, in part, on strong community collaboration and support. He told each graduate that they refused to let their addiction define them and seized on the opportunity of drug court to change their lives.
