Auburn police report increase in theft, drugs and domestic violence

Despite a decrease in arrests and calls for service, the Auburn Police Department said it saw an increase in investigations last month.

According to the department’s monthly activity report, officers investigated more theft-related crimes in September; there were 12 more burglaries (21 total) and 17 more larcenies (90 total). In addition, police reported 23 more domestic violence complaints (131 total) and 12 more drug cases (40 total).

However, the APD said it received fewer calls for service last month: 3,199 compared to 3,251 in August. Police also made 31 fewer arrests last month for a total of 100 arrests.
