State Police: One dead after crash in Williamson, weather likely a factor

Williamson received about six inches of snowfall last night, and it was the region’s first true-winter weather experience.

For one driver in Williamson, the night ended fatally.

A car crash, which happened during the overnight hours, was called in just before lunchtime, according to State Troopers.

The accident took place along Townline Rd. in Williamson. State Police say his vehicle went off the road, flipped over into water, where it remained until identified by a passerby.

The victim has not yet been identified, and media is being kept away from the scene, according to reports from WHEC’s Jennifer Lewke.
