Mini-workshop on Seneca County budget set for Tuesday

The Government Operations Committee of the Seneca County Board of Supervisors will have a mini-workshop on the tentative 2018 county budget at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The workshop will precede the monthly board committee meetings, scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

The tentative budget presented by County Manager John Sheppard Nov. 14, totals $77.2 million, compared to $76.7 million for 2017, a 0.7 percent increase.

The tax levy is at $9.8 million, compared to $9.6 million this year, a 1.7 percent increase. Sales tax revenue is projected to rise by 6.5 percent and gaming revenue from the del Lago Resort & Casino in Tyre will increase by 66.7 percent, going from $1.5 to $2.5 million.
