Rushville driver ticketed after three-car crash in Farmington

First responders were called to the scene of a three-car crash at the intersection of State Route 96 and County Road 8 in Farmington on Friday night.

The accident happened around 8:34 pm Daniel Blank, 29, of Rushville was traveling south on County Road 8 and stopped at the sign at the intersection. Authorities say Maria Gallina, 17, of Seneca Falls was traveling east on State Route 96 – approaching the intersection – when Blank pulled out into the intersection.

Deputies say Blank’s failure to yield the right of way to Gallina caused a collision that sent both vehicles into a third, which had been stopped at the intersection as well. That vehicle, operated by 33-year-old David Walker, of Farmington suffered extensive damage.

Deputies say Blank was transported by Finger Lakes Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital. Gallina was transported by Victor-Farmington Ambulance to F.F. Thompson Hospital.

As result of the crash Blank was charged with failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign, and was issued a traffic citation. He will answer the charge in Farmington Town Court at a later date.

All three vehicles had to be towed from the scene, according to officials.
