The Canandaigua Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was
organized on Oct. 14, 1977, with 24 charter members. Forty years later, the chapter grew to a membership over 125.
Chapter members, associate members and guests recently gathered for a formal tea to celebrate the 40th anniversary at First Congregational Church of Canandaigua. Glena Larson, chapter regent, dressed in 1977 fashion as she addressed the group as its first chapter regent, Velma Mason. Larson reviewed the chapter’s formation and events from the early part of its history.
Honorary chapter regents Heidi Colf and Cynthia Schwab outlined the chapter’s accomplishments, memoirs and outreach programs over the decades.
