Farmington public tours new and improved Town Hall

Residents and guests from neighboring communities toured the newly renovated and greatly expanded Farmington Town Hall at 1000 County Road 8.

Supervisor Peter Ingalsbe and Town Board members welcomed attendees for the open house, ribbon cutting and refreshments Tuesday night.

In the planning stages since 2013, construction began on the $1.6 million, 13,000-square-foot facility in November 2016.

The project involved a major expansion of the 40-year-old building, moving all departments to one main level, expanding offices and public meeting rooms, and creating much needed storage space.

Major upgrades were made to the existing building, including upping site security with improved exterior and interior lighting, 12 security cameras and multiple-zone alarms. Increased energy efficiency and accessibility for residents of varying physical capabilities were also addressed.
