Taxpayers overwhelmingly approved the Cato-Meridian Central School District’s capital project Tuesday night.
Superintendent Noel Patterson said the project, with a budget set at $5,470,000, passed by a vote of 95 to 16. He said the district appreciates that community members “recognize the importance of providing for the needs of our students both now and for decades to come.”
Work will now begin on making sure the project meets the state’s requirements before submitting it, Patterson said.
He doesn’t anticipate the project being approved until January 2019, as the state is dealing with other projects for approval. He said it is premature to guess when the project will be submitted.
