Newark woman charged with DWI after splitting utility pole in Canandaigua crash

A 27-year-old Newark woman was charged with aggravated DWI after a single-car crash on State Route 21 in Canandaigua.

Deputies say Cammara K. Bissonette, 27, of Newark was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and speeding following a wreck that happened on State Route 21 shortly before 4 am.

Bissonette allegedly failed to reduce her speed for road conditions, slid off the roadway after losing control of her vehicle – striking a utility pole. She wasn’t injured as result o the crash, and was wearing a seatbelt, according to police, but utility companies had to respond to the scene to replace the pole.

Both Frontier and RG&E were on-scene, according to deputies.

Bissonnette will answer the charges at a later date in Canandaigua Town Court.
