About $90,000 in unpaid school taxes remain on the books for Tom Golisano. The billionaire businessman is expected to announce within the next few weeks plans over the payment he’s withholding because of a geese issue at his lake property in South Bristol.
As of Friday, Golisano had not decided whether he will pay the taxes and “he has not had any communication from anyone in the town,” said Golisano spokesperson Jean Dalmath, president of Dalmath Associates. He plans a press conference in a week or so, she said.
Golisano, who founded Paychex Inc., announced in October he was withholding the tax payment that was due in September pending help from the town of South Bristol with a geese problem plaguing his property on Stemple Hill in the Naples school district. Golisano said the property is assessed at $5.5 million.
