It’s been said that the biggest room in the house is the room for improvement and that’s certainly true for all sports.
Won that football game by four touchdowns? Coach is there to remind you of the false start penalty. Stomped that basketball team by 30 points? Yeah, well, remember that pick-and-roll that ate you up? Pitch a perfect game in baseball? You still had help from your teammates to get it done and maybe even some help from the umpire.
But then there is bowling. It’s on you. All of it. And it just might be the only sport where the measure of perfection is so concrete and tangible.
Which is what makes the 300 so special. Bloomfield senior Chris Wollschleger did just that on Wednesday, bowling a perfect game during a Finger Lakes League match against Harley-Allendale Columbia at Radio Social, the center that opened on Carlson Road in Rochester when Clover Lanes closed in 2016.
X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-XXX = 300 today for Chris Wolschleger. VB🎳. #gobombers 👍
