Bloomfield’s new superintendent is loving his job

Just two weeks into the new year and Andy Doell is loving his new job as superintendent of the Bloomfield Central School District.

“This district is such a great place and the people are so welcoming,” Doell said. “In addition, one of the things that I love about this district is the opportunities for kids.”

The district offers an International Baccalaureate program that for a district this size, doesn’t normally happen. He also pointed out the district has the Primary Years Programme, the IB component for younger students.

“The technology that’s available for the kids here is amazing,” he said. “The things they’re making with 3D printers and manufacturing in technology classes are amazing.”

Doell joined the district Jan. 1 after spending several years in the Seneca Falls Central School District where he was, most recently, principal of Mynderse Academy, the district’s high school, and previously, principal for nine years at Elizabeth Cady Stanton Elementary School.
