Deputies: Lyons woman falsely reported incident, had ex-boyfriend wrongly arrested

Deputies in Wayne County arrested a Lyons woman following an investigation into a domestic incident.

According to deputies, Alma L. Giles, 23, was charged with making a punishable false written statement and third-degree falsely reporting an incident after investigation into a January 8th incident.

Deputies say Giles reported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office that an ex-boyfriend went to her residence, violating a stay away order of protection. Giles provided deputies with a sworn written statement alleging the same to have him arrested.

However, it was later determined through investigation that the incident never happened. Deputies say Giles was arrested and released on appearance tickets.

The charges will be answered in Lyons Town Court.
