Tom Golisano plans to unveil a plan Tuesday he says will help homeowners “fight for equitable property taxes.” The announcement comes on the heels of Golisan
withholding school taxfor his lake home in South Bristol over a geese problem.
In a news conference set for 10 a.m. at his Golisano Foundation Office in Perinton, the founder and chairman of Paychex Inc. will announce plans he says will help homeowners all across upstate — from Albany to Buffalo.
Golisano is withholding a September school tax of $90,000 due to the problem he said is polluting his lawn and lakefront at his property on Stemple Hill. The property is in the Naples Central School District. Golisano said last fall he was not getting help from the town or state Department of Environmental Conservation — both said they could not help — in eradicating the problem. Barring the help, Golisano said he would seek a reassessment based on the property’s lower value.
