Barrington will hire new code enforcement officer

Barrington Town officials are in the market for a new Code Enforcement Officer. The board did not re-appoint John Griffin to the position, and town officials have begun the process to recruit a new CEO.

At a special meeting Jan. 11, the town board unanimously agreed to contract with Benton CEO Jayson Hoover to serve the town on an interim basis at an hourly rate of $30 plus milage.

Griffin has been in conflict with other town officials and some town residents, primarily Seth Olney, owner of The Olney Place, who has named Griffin in a lawsuit.
