Recently retired Ontario County District Attorney Michael Tantillo was honored Friday by his colleagues, who presented him with the District Attorneys Association of the State of New York’s prestigious Frank S. Hogan Award.
The award, named for a renowned New York County district attorney dubbed “Mr. Integrity,” is presented annually to a district attorney who exemplifies the values Hogan stood for in bringing integrity and an unwavering commitment to justice and fairness for all.
“It’s like a career achievement award,” said current Ontario County District Attorney Jim Ritts, who attended the luncheon with Tantillo and Tantillo’s wife Laura at the Grand Hyatt at Grand Central Station in New York City, where the association conducted its three-day winter conference.
“It was nice to see him recognized for all he’s done,” Ritts said of his former boss. “He’s a guy who, for 39 years, has been the epitome of a prosecutor. He works hard. He is tirelessly dedicated to the needs of victims and his commitment to integrity is unmatched.”
